In Baby PLAYLABTM, curious babies will be given the space to play independently as they practice focusing their attention, strengthening their motor skills, exploring their surroundings, making discoveries using their senses and more.
This RIE-inspired program, infused with facets of Montessori, Waldorf, Pikler, and play-based pedagogy, combines the most popular early childhood education approaches into one to support where each child is at individually, while challenging them to learn new skills.
During the class, babies are free to independently explore the early education classroom, set up with a specially selected variety of wooden climbers, equipment, and brain-stimulating toys. Parents/caregivers are given space to observe children’s development, ask questions, and practice strategies to encourage their children’s learning with customized support + solutions.
Baby PLAYLABTM is designed to offer a stimulating space for babies to develop:
- Social skills
- Emotional intelligence
- Problem solving skills
- and much more…
Parents will also get solutions to common baby parenting questions such as:
o How to choose brain stimulating toys & new play ideas
o Overstimulation & how much is too much?
o Baby sign language & fostering communication
o Separation anxiety
o Strategies to deal with everyday challenges
o Baby sleep 101
*Recommended: This program builds upon concepts and strategies from our signature intelliPLAYTM program.
Q: What is the difference between intelliPLAYTM & PLAYLABTM?
- Our intelliPLAYTM class has more structured discussions centred around how to best support baby development, how to play with your baby, how to choose toys that are stimulating and engaging, and how to promote the 3 pillars of intelligence (IQ, EQ & social intelligence). Each week builds on content from the previous week.
- PLAYLABTM offers the space for families to put the foundational pieces they learned in intelliPLAYTM into practice while babies have a playground to explore and interact with other children. The discussions are more based on the observation of babies in the class, what their needs are and coming up with strategies for challenges parents are currently having or are anticipating. The space is also larger so it’s great for active movers and drop-ins are available (if there is space).
